2. SIZE, SHAPE, AND POSITION THE LANGUID
2a. Chuck the plastic disk to the drill
using a ¼" bolt and 2 nuts. Grind
the disk down to size, carefully, until
there’s an opening of approximately
40 thousandths of an inch between
the bowl and the languid edge.
2b. To shape the languid, cut (with a lathe) or grind
(with a sander) a 15° angle into the edge of the languid.
2c. Position the languid on the center post, using 2 flanged nuts. The
languid should be initially positioned
such that the top of the languid is
even with the top of the bowl. When
complete, the bowl and languid will
appear as shown at right.
3. CONSTRUCT THE BELLS
3a. Begin by drilling a ³/8" hole in the center of the 2" end cap.
