Steven Roberts’ workshop is a mess. Nestled in the
quiet woods of Camano Island, a small community
situated by Puget Sound about 90 minutes north of
Seattle, the 3,000-square-foot building is overflowing
with miscellaneous electronics, computers, and
gadgets. Tools are everywhere — on shelves, on
