Letters
Iwas considering letting my subscription lapse, because I’m a boy and so many of the projects are too girly or too hard for me. But Volume 06 is great! Plenty of projects within my ability that don’t threaten my fragile manhood. It convinced me to renew.
I liked the Quick Craft on bleaching shirts [Volume 06, page 141 ], but I have a better method that gives less, well, rough results. I make an outline with freezer paper and arrange words inside using wooden letters (a buck a letter at Target). The result is a shirt made ASAP that doesn’t look like it was made ASAP. Here are some of the ones I’ve made.

Thank you so much for the tutorial on embroidery and the various stitches [Volume 06, page 135]. I’ve always wanted to learn to embroider but have been too afraid to teach myself until now. I feel very inspired to go out and try it.
When I saw the cover for Volume 04, I totally fell in love with your magazine. I knew I had to have that scarf [Volume 04, page 109], so a month later I enrolled in a knitting course (it’s the first pattern I’ve ever followed) and three months down the line, here it is — I made the finishing touches on Christmas Day. I knew the scarf would look fab but didn’t realize it would be so warm and snuggly too, and although we never get snow in London, we do get a fierce wind, so I aim to wear it all season. Thanks.

The hand-sewn free-range monsters are super cool. Thanks. Perfect thing to do while sick and stir-crazy. Attached is a picture of Flurge the Irked. He’s not fierce or ferocious, just mildly peeved. And wait, here’s Spilk, he’s great too.
Actually, you all have created a monster-making monster.
