PRAIRIE GIRL
APRON
CONTEST
We were blown away
by the wonderful
submissions that
came pouring in for
our apron contest,
inspired by The
Prairie Girl’s Guide
to Life, out last fall
from Taunton Press.
We had almost 200
entries, and every
single one was a
testament to the
fact that aprons are
as relevant today as
they were to Laura
Ingalls Wilder. We
were delighted by
the beauty, utility,
silliness, elegance,
and fun of the wildly
different aprons.
Some were frilly half
aprons, some were
practical full-length
aprons, others were
matching mother-
daughter sets, but
they all made us
want to cover up
and get messy in
the kitchen or craft
room. Thanks to
everyone who sent
us photos of their
aprons and shared
their stories about
making them; be
sure to check out our
Honorable Mentions
