1. Make a duck tape sandwich.
Cut 2 pieces of duck tape, each a little more than
double the width of your iPod. Join them into 1 by
sticking the long edges together, then place on a flat
surface, sticky side up. Repeat with 2 more pieces
of duck tape, and stick these on top of the first 2,
sticky side down. You’ve now got your sandwich,
with non-sticky sides facing out and all the sticky
stuff in the middle (Figure A).
2. Trim to fit.
Measure your duck sandwich’s height by wrapping
it around your iPod once and making sure it’s tall
enough. Once you’ve got the measurement, trim
the top and bottom edges to fit.
3. Cut windows for the click wheel
and screen.
Print the template, cut it out, and tape it onto your
sandwich (Figure B).
NOTE: The template offered for this article at
craftzine.com/06/hide_duck is for an iPod mini.
For any other iPod, just measure the click wheel
and screen and adjust accordingly.
