TRANSFORM AN OLD T-SHIRT
INTO A NEW T-SKIRT
1. MEASURE YOURSELF
You’ll want to measure your waist and
hips. Then measure from the lower
edge of your bra to the point where
you want the hem to fall — at your
knees or just below them. Choose a
T-shirt that is 1" or 2" wider than the
widest point of your hip measurement. Then hold the T-shirt against
yourself, just below your bust, to
make certain you have a shirt that
will reach the length you want.
TIP: Measure yourself, then the
tee, to be sure you have the right
size tee for your body. Bigger tees
and extra fabric are always easier
to work with.

2. PREPARE TEE FOR RESHAPING AND PEG THE HEM
2a. Turn the T-shirt inside out. With your hand inside the sleeve
and your fingertips supporting the body of the T-shirt, start snip-ping the T-shirt as close as possible to the serged sleeve seam,
going all around the sleeve, with the serged edge remaining on the
sleeve. When you finish, you should have a smooth, raw armhole.
Repeat on the opposite sleeve.
