each side of your loom. Take the yarn from peg 3
and put it on peg 4, KO. Take the yarn from peg 10

» Row 34: Wrap pegs 9– 4, KO. Decrease 1 peg on
each side of your loom. Take the yarn from peg 4
and put it on peg 5, KO. Take the yarn from peg 9
and put it on peg 8, KO. Wrap pegs 5– 8, KO.
» Row 35: Wrap pegs 8– 5, KO. Decrease one peg on
each side of your loom. Take the yarn from peg 8
and put it on peg 7, KO. Take the yarn from peg 5

You just finished your second fish! For each additional fish, repeat rows 16– 35. Keep going until
you’ve reached your desired length. I did this scarf
for a total of 15 fish.
4. Knit your last fish.
Your first and last fish are larger than the rest.
To knit your last fish:
» Row 36: Increase 1 peg ( 5). Wrap pegs 5– 7, KO.
» Row 37: Increase 1 peg ( 8). Wrap pegs 8– 5, KO.
» Row 38: Increase 1 peg ( 4). Wrap pegs 4– 8, KO.
» Row 39: Increase 1 peg ( 9). Wrap pegs 9– 4, KO.
» Row 40: Increase 1 peg ( 3). Wrap pegs 3– 9, KO.
» Row 41: Increase 1 peg ( 10). Wrap pegs 10– 3, KO.
» Row 42: Increase 1 peg ( 2). Wrap pegs 2– 10, KO.
» Row 43: Increase 1 peg ( 11). Wrap pegs 11– 2, KO.
» Row 44: Increase 1 peg ( 1). Wrap pegs 1– 11, KO.

STITCH IT: TROPICAL FISH SCARF
5. Crochet off the loom.
Take your scarf completely off the loom with a
crochet hook by doing a chain stitch. Add a knot
to secure it, and weave in any ends that may be
left over.
6. Add the fringe.
Now it’s time to add your fringe. Take yarn from
both your Red Heart and your Caron Bliss skeins,
and cut it into 4" lengths. Add these to your fish
(Figure E), but do not add them where your work
folds in (you want to show that). I like to add the
Caron Bliss on both sides first because it brings
out the contrasting colors. Then wear it — see
Briana Wilkerson modeling the final product below.
