STITCH IT: VINYL KNITTED PURSE
AB
CD
Fig. A: Here are all the pegs wrapped. You only use one
row on your board, not both (pretend it’s a rake, not a
board). Fig. B: Taking the yarn from peg 12 and placing it
on peg 11. To decrease, take the bottom yarn from
peg 11 and pull up over the top yarn and off the peg.
Fig. C: Front view of the last 2 pegs. Fig. D: Knitting off
the pegs.

1. Cast on.
Cast on your loom, using all 12 pegs. Do only one
row on your board, like a rake (Figure A). (This is not
a double-knitted item.)
2. Knit your first fish.
» Rows 1–10: Flat stitch and knit off (KO).
» Row 11: Decrease 1 peg on each side of your loom.
Take the yarn from peg 12 and put it on peg 11, KO
(Figure B). Wrap pegs 11– 2, KO. (When I say wrap,
you are still doing the flat stitch, the only stitch
used in this whole pattern.)
» Row 12: Decrease 1 peg on each side of the loom.
Take the yarn from peg 2 and put it on peg 3, KO.
Take the yarn from peg 11 and put it on peg 10, KO.
Wrap pegs 3– 10, KO.
» Row 13: Wrap pegs 10– 3 and knit off. Decrease 1
peg on each side of the loom. Take the yarn from
peg 3 and put it on peg 4, KO. Take the yarn from
peg 10 and put it on peg 9, KO. Wrap pegs 4– 9, KO.
» Row 14: Wrap pegs 9– 4, KO. Decrease 1 peg on
each side of the loom. Take the yarn from peg 4
and put it on peg 5, KO. Take the yarn from peg 9
and put it on peg 8, KO. Wrap pegs 5– 8, KO.
» Row 15: Wrap pegs 8– 5, KO. Decrease 1 peg on
each side of your loom. Take the yarn from peg 8
and put it on peg 7, KO. Take the yarn from peg 5
and put it on peg 6, KO. Wrap pegs 6 and 7, KO.
This finishes your first fish.
3. Knit additional fish.
