4. PLACE THE IMAGES
4a. To position the balsa strips within the frame box, first measure and pencil-mark the 1½" points along the top and bottom
front edges of the frame box. Next, make vertical guidelines on
the inside of the frame box, from the guide marks on its top
edge to the bottom where it meets the mirror.
4b. Dab some wood glue along the top and bottom edges of the
first balsa section (the one mounted with image sections B2
and A1), and slide it into its frame box position using the pencil
markings as your guide. Repeat with the remaining 5 balsa
sections. Let dry.
5. ASSEMBLE IT ALL TOGETHER
5a. Completely wipe all fingerprints and dust from the mirror
with glass cleaner. Place the frame facedown, and place the glass
inside. Place the frame box facedown into the frame. With a miter
box, cut 4 pieces of ½" quarter round trim to 6" lengths. Run a
thin line of wood glue along both flat sides of the quarter-round
trim pieces, and place onto the backside of the frame, pushed
firmly against the 4 sides of the frame box. Let dry.
5b. Center a screw eye on each long section of the corner trim,
about 2" from the top edge of the frame box, and screw into
place. Run picture-hanging wire through the screw eyes and twist
securely into place.
