It’s both a blessing and a curse, seeing value in crap. On the plus side, you can get all sorts of amazing things almost for free; on the minus, you can get all sorts of amazing things almost for free. Once you’ve trained your keen eye to look past prosaic notions of what’s worthy, you’ll end up swamped with amazing things you have no idea what to do with.
For my fiancée and myself, those amazing things were vintage and unusual soda bottles. They come in a dazzling variety of shapes and styles, and they often have wonderful silk-screened or printed graphics. The vintage ones can be found abundantly in rural and Southern antique stores (our families are both from the South), and the new ones even come with the bonus of 12 or so ounces of delicious soda.
