Most anyone who has livestock will have twine from
their hay or straw bales. This twine — commonly
called hay or baler twine — usually gets thrown out
or burned. Instead of tossing it, why not make a hay twine rug?

Hay twine that’s made of plastic can be used to make wonderful outdoor rugs. And you don’t have to own livestock to get this plastic “yarn.” If you’re not close to a Tractor Supply Co. or meat-packing supply store, you can purchase it online at a packing supply outlet such as packandseal.com.

A loom-knit twine rug grabs dirt right off the bottom of your
shoes. The dirt falls between the knits and under the rug. When
the rug gets dirty, you just hose it off. You’ll feel good about your
rug because it’s functional and great for the environment.
